The Mass
The Holy Eucharist, the Divine Liturgy, the Lord's Supper,
Holy Communion, commonly called the Mass.
The Book of Common Prayer explains that this worship service
is the ordinary service on the Lord's Day (Sunday) and is done, according to
Jesus' command, "in remembrance of me," not just to think back and recall
but to make very present in our midst all the benefits of Jesus' sacrifice
of himself once offered upon the cross: "this is my body" and "this is my blood."
Regardless of age or denomination of baptism, all are
welcome to receive the Sacrament of Jesus' body and blood. One should
seek to have age-appropriate knowledge and a living faith, while know that
"all we know is not all there is to know" about such a mystery and that
ultimately the Holy Spirit must perfect within us the very presence of
Christ.
Come and join us in mystery, in celebration, in Word and
witness to the Good News of God in Christ. |
